Learning to teach English :D

Hey guys! I’ve been pretty busy over the past few weeks and haven’t had much free time. This is because I’m currently on a 5 week intense CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) course. I have to plan and teach 3 hours of class to two different levels of learners along with completing 4 courseworks. I have just finished my third week so I am over halfway which means that I will be able to blog more frequently in two weeks! For those that are curious what I teach, I have included some of the presentation that I used for my most recent lesson 🙂

I’ve done 3 hours of teaching already but I still get VERY nervous when I’m teaching. I guess it’s something that I have to get used to and it’s something that takes time?

I’m not gonna lie I did have a breakdown in the first week as the workload was crazy. The course is pretty tough and intense but hey, by the end of the course I’ll be able to teach English anywhere around the world (if I pass…).

  1. Good luck on your CELTA course. I’ve been teaching English (and other things) for nearly 48 years now, and still enjoy it. Unfortunately my classes were interrupted in March because of the coronavirus pandemic, and still haven’t resumed.
